BUY OUR MERCH AND SAVE THE VAULT
Listen up all you devoted film fanatics. The Incredibly Strange Archive of 35mm & 16mm film prints is cared for and kept secure by the lovely team at The Hollywood. Since the mid 80s Ant Timpson and his brother Matt have been archiving rare film prints as they saw the digital revolution approaching and realised that the magic of analog cinema was eventually going to be replaced by a digital tsunami. The cost of maintaining a huge collection of film was always going to take a fiscal toll and the drain on resources has always been an ongoing issue. A long time ago Quentin Tarantino gifted the archive with a cash amount to help with the ongoing preservation of these prints. Quentin has used the prints himself at his New Beverly cinema as well as his own film festivals in the past. Alongside Quentin, numerous other cinematheques and film societies globally have accessed the archive, all in the effort to keep 35mm projection alive for the benefit of audiences - both young and old. To ensure that this archive remains available to audiences in the future, the proceeds from Hollywood merchandise (tee shirts/ posters etc) will be crucial for it's survival and growth. So when you’re buying merchandise from the Hollywood, you’re not just getting something cool and collectible - you’re being welcomed into a heroic force - A Celluloid Squad if you will. Your service to this cause will ensure the longevity of 35mm/16mm projection at the Hollywood. May the gods of cinema bless you in all you do. Viva la analog revolution!
